===============================
So as you can see from above, my ranking have slipped slightly after being indexed for the 3rd time on June 23rd. Essentially i have no good explanation for this. The only changes to the site were 2 more articles added and 2 more category pages also. What also interesting is that the post containing the link to the main HRdb site was indexed on June 22nd. This isn’t showing up as a backlink according to google. What is interesting though is that Google’s webmaster tools Page analysis tool shows:
Suggesting that it has noticed the incoming link from this site. I find this to be a bit of an issue with determining pagerank and inbound links of various sites. Often a site which Google tool bar reports as having a pagerank of 2-3 will show no backlinks, even when you know it not to be the case.
Anyway, I really need to wrap this post up before i find myself falling asleep at my desk tomorrow…
A couple of things i should mention first though:
Despite me finding myself listed as number4 in the search results for herbal remedies db. Google WMT tells me i have the #1 “average top position”. The sound of that makes me think they can no longer give a single solid number for how a page ranks as they have now started using user specific information in their search results, so different people will get different results.
In the next few days (hopefully), i’ll be adding more content to the HRdb site, plus adding more external links and i might even add a sitemap at some point if i get a spare moment.
I’ll also be hoping to add more to this blog, other than just these simple updates on the SEO experiment. Although no doubt the content will be closely related. I’m seriously thinking about changing the description and categories to be about webmastering, google and seo only. I can’t realistically see myself taking the time to post about much else.
Finally, this blog had the honour of receiving its first comment. And it was boring old “can’t get it up” spam…
